Max Ernst as a representative of Surrealism

Max Ernst was a German painter, sculpture and graphic artist, mainly associated with the Dada group and later with the surrealism. He was very eager to experiment and he invented a couple of art techniques that were later used by him.

The prevalent subject matter of his works was a bird Loplop, however later his style was moving in the erotic direction after his marriage.

He left Germany and moved to USA because of the Nazi occupation.
